Caramelized Bananas Recipe Will Make You a Dessert Celebrity

Cruises are renowned for their onboard cuisine, with passengers often praising the dining experiences as of of the highlights of their trip. Between embarkments, bring a little taste of the high seas into your own kitchen with this amazing Caramelized Bananas dessert recipe from Celebrity Cruises.

Caramelized Bananas

  • 6 fresh bananas
  • 5 oz granulated sugar
  • 2 oz butter
  • 2 oz Myers’s dark rum
  • 5 oz heavy whipping cream

Ice Cream and Garnish

  • 5 oz coconut ice cream
  • 30 fresh mint leave
  • 3 tablespoons almonds (sliced and toasted)
  • 12 fresh red raspberries


Remove the skin and cut each of the bananas into 5 pieces. In a hot pan, melt the granulated sugar until golden brown. Add the butter and bananas. Deglaze with the run and cream; simmer until the mixture coats the bananas. To serve, scoop the coconut ice cream into 6 small dishes. Place 5 banana pieces on each dish around the ice cream. Garnish with mint leaves, toasted almonds and fresh raspberries. Serves 6.
