After a 6 month closure, Yee-Haw Brewing Company to re-open Greenville, S.C., location as a collaborative brewing experience with Asheville’s Green Man Brewery

While businesses in most industries work hard to outdo the competition, two friends with a common interest in the brewing industry found that it is more fun to collaborate. Dennis Thies of Asheville, NC based Green Man Brewery and Joe Baker of Yee-Haw Brewing Company have taken the best of both brands and created a unique experience in a family friendly, community environment. Yee-Haw Brewing Company will reopen its McBee Avenue location this month with a large outdoor greenspace complete with an impressive 21×14 video wall that provides an amazing sports viewing experience in a setting that allows people to spread out in an open and spacious environment.

Yee-Haw Brewing Company closed its doors in late March due to the pandemic but decided to continue with their plans of an upgrade and expansion despite the circumstances. “We love Greenville and have enjoyed sharing our beer with a lot of new friends over the last two years. Due to challenging circumstances, we decided to invest in a larger outdoor experience that our customers craved,” said Joe Baker, founder of Yee-Haw Brewing Company. “There’s always an emphasis on the outdoors in Greenville, and we wanted our new location to reflect that spirit. So, we have added 6,000 square feet of outdoor green space complete with a high-resolution video wall, shade, and lots of games.”

Yee-Haw Brewing Company will be collaborating with Green Man Brewery at this location to celebrate the friendship between the two families behind the brands. Joe Baker and Dennis Thies have worked tirelessly to grow their brands independently, but the fun their family has shared during hikes, ball games, races, and campouts, drives their passion to create a unique and fun experience for visitors at the Greenville location. The first collaboration beer made by Yee-Haw and Green Man was dubbed “Common Ground,” made from grains grown in Tennessee and malted in North Carolina. This venture will grow that effort to include a rotation of new and exciting brews that will only be offered at this location. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Green Man Brewery was one of North Carolina’s original breweries and has been producing some of the beer scene’s most iconic ales since 1997. A well-established brand in Greenville and the region, Green Man Brewery’s offerings are consistently recognized for quality and loyalty to traditional English styles.

Alternatively, Yee-Haw Brewing Company produces a diverse mix of ales and lagers, including its World Beer Cup award-winning Dunkel, known for its rich, complex flavors but easy drinkability. Yee-Haw is passionate about making quality but approachable beer that is meant to be savored and enjoyed time and time again. Yee-Haw’s offerings are bold but balanced; it is great beer without the fuss. (Yee-Haw also makes an IPA, Kölsch, Eighty Shilling Scottish Ale and Pale Ale, as well as several seasonal brews.)

One of the first meals shared between Joe and Dennis included beer and hot chicken. Their love of quality craft beers, superior food, and the art of pairing those flavors blossomed into a friendship and partnership of products and experiences that will be showcased at this Common Ground property with an exciting addition of Prince’s Hot Chicken. Prince’s Hot Chicken, the original James Beard American Classic award-winning hot chicken will start frying at its first location outside of Nashville, TN. When the doors reopen to visitors, Prince’s will be served alongside some of the Yee-Haw favorites in a casual dining setting. While this is the only spot you can order the world-famous hot chicken outside of the family’s Nashville, TN home, the heart and soul translate and the distinctive flavor and legend will pair perfectly with the vast selection of craft beer offerings.

Dennis Thies, founder of Green Man Brewery, spoke of his excitement: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have an outpost in Greenville along with our old friends at Yee-Haw Brewing Company and our new friends at Prince’s Hot Chicken. Personally, I am a fried chicken aficionado and I can’t wait to get into a plate full when we are up and rolling.”

After a renovation and upgrade to their 11,000 square foot facility, Yee-Haw Brewing Company will be opening back up to the public this month. The newly upgraded facility has expanded their outdoor seating area and added a 21×14 foot video wall for optimum sports viewing. Following all safety guidelines and COVID-19 protocols, Yee-Haw Brewing Company will be an ideal spot for patrons who wish to have the Yee-Haw experience they know and love with a little more room and outdoor space available so they can be comfortable.
