The arrival of COVID-19 has changed travel, but AAA partner hotels have risen to the challenge. Here’s a look at the latest changes in hotel safety in the wake of the virus.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts

Check-In: Best Western’s Mobile Concierge platform allows guests to book accommodations, check in and communicate with hotel staff via smartphone.

Enhanced Measures: The We Care Clean program includes extensive antiviral cleaning and the removal of unnecessary items like decorative pillows and throws. Don’t need housekeeping services? Mid-stay cleaning service is by request.

Hilton Worldwide

Check-In: Hilton’s Digital Key platform allows check-in and check-out via smartphone.

Enhanced Measures: Their CleanStay program partners with the makers of Lysol to ensure hospital-grade cleaning of guestrooms and common areas. Also, an adhesive tab affixed to the guestroom door lets you know that no one has entered the room since it was sanitized.

Check-In: Download the World of Hyatt app for touch-free entry, contactless check-ins and curated meditations from Headspace.

Enhanced Measures: Expect a host of touch-free options, as well as thorough hospital-grade cleaning of lobbies, reception areas and guestrooms. A trained Hygiene & Wellbeing leader serves each Hyatt Hotel, overseeing safety procedures and protocols. Temperature checks are mandatory for employees.

Marriot International

Check-In: Use Marriott Bonvoy’s mobile app to check in, find directions to neighborhood attractions, even unlock your guestroom door. All guests and employees are required to wear face masks.

Enhanced Measures: Marriott’s Commitment to Clean program pledges to keep public and private spaces sanitized using hospital-grade products. Each guestroom comes furnished with disinfectant wipes. Marriott’s Global Cleanliness Council keeps its properties abreast of the latest health and safety protocols, and electrostatic sprayers provide another barrier between guests and the virus.

MGM Resorts

Check-In: MGM’s app allows remote check-in and provides concierge-level directions and information about local attractions.

Enhanced Measures: Enhanced air circulation systems and resort-wide sanitizing procedures ensure guests’ wellbeing. MGM employees undergo screening and temperature checks to assure their health and safety. Guests and employees are required to wear masks within MGM buildings.
